The ministers of economy and finance of the 27 member-states of the European Union. The Second Vice-President of the Government of Spain and Minister of Economy and Finance, Elena Salgado, will chair the meeting

Programme

The Economic and Financial Affairs Council will deal with the implementation of the Stability and Growth Pact, in the framework of the excessive deficit procedure, in a group of countries which includes Greece. Likewise, the functioning of the European internal market will be considered, with special emphasis given to the implementation of the Directive on Services in the Internal Market. At the working breakfast prior to Ecofin, the European ministers will analyze the matters dealt with at the Extraordinary Summit of Heads of Government convened by the President of the European Council to promote economic recovery. The President of Ecofin, Elena Salgado, will give a press conference at approximately 13:00 PM.
